L'Écrit et l'Esprit

Les études qui composent ce volume ont été rédigées en hommage à Adrian Schenker à l’occasion de son départ à la retraite. L’enseignement et l’œuvre de ce scientifique de renom invitent les biblistes à prendre en considération à la fois l’Ecrit et l’Esprit, qui constituent la nature de l’Ecriture Sainte. En effet, Adrian Schenker a toujours porté une attention particulière à chacun de ces aspects. Ses travaux portent d’une part sur la critique textuelle et l’histoire du texte de l’Ancien Testament, et d’autre part sur de nombreux thèmes théologiques, comme le péché et la réconciliation, les sacrifices et la liturgie, la loi et le droit. Les contributions rassemblées dans ce recueil forment donc un bouquet aux mille teintes, comme l’est l’œuvre de celui qu’elles veulent saluer. Certaines portent sur l’un des multiples aspects de l’Ecrit biblique; d’autres traitent d’un sujet ressortissant à l’Esprit; d’autres enfin conjuguent les styles. Cette diversité s’exprime aussi dans la large palette des auteurs: amis, collègues ou élèves, ils sont de nationalités, de langues et de confessions différentes. Une bibliographie des publications scientifiques d’Adrian Schenker, un index des auteurs et un index biblique complètent le volume.

Die in diesem Band enthaltenen Studien wurden zu Ehren von Adrian Schenker anlässlich seiner Emeritierung zusammengestellt. Lehre und Werk dieses renommierten Wissenschaftlers laden die Ausleger der Bibel ein, zugleich Schrift und Geist zu erforschen, welche das Wesen der Heiligen Schrift ausmachen. Adrian Schenker hat eben diesen beiden Aspekten stets besondere Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet. Seine Arbeiten betreffen einerseits Textkritik und Textgeschichte des Alten Testaments, andererseits zahlreiche Themen der Theologie, wie Sünde und Versöhnung, Opfer und Liturgie, Gesetz und Recht. Die Beiträge, die in dieser Festschrift zusammengestellt sind, stellen daher einen bunten Blumenstrauß dar, dem Werk dessen, den sie grüßen wollen, vergleichbar. Einige beziehen sich auf einen der zahllosen Aspekte der Bibel als Schrift, auf Schrifttum und Handschriften. Andere behandeln ein Thema, das dem Geist der Bibel zuzuordnen ist. Wieder andere verbinden beides. Diese Vielfalt zeigt sich auch in der Bandbreite der Autoren: Freunde, Kollegen oder Schüler aus verschiedenen Nationen, Sprachen und Konfessionen. Eine Bibliographie mit den wissenschaftlichen Veröffentlichungen Adrian Schenkers, ein Autorenindex und ein Bibelstellenverzeichnis schließen den Band ab.

The studies which make up this volume are written in honor of Adrian Schenker on the occasion of his retirement. The teaching and the work of this highly esteemed scholar invite other scholars in biblical studies to consider the Script and the Spirit which constitute the nature of the Holy Scriptures. In fact, Adrian Schenker has always paid particular attention to both of these aspects. His works deal, on the one hand with textual criticism and the history of the text of the Old Testament, and on the other hand with many theological themes such as sin and reconciliation, sacrifice and liturgy, law and the justice system. The contributions gathered in this book are like a manycolored bouquet of flowers, us is the work of the scholar they celebrate. Some of them deal with many aspects of the biblical Script, the others deal with its Spirit, and others again combine these two centers of interest. This diversity is also shown in other ways; the authors are friends, collegues and students; they are of different nationalities, languages and confessions. A bibliography of the scientific publications of Adrian Schenker and indices of the authors and biblical references complete the volume.
