Ocio y ociosidad en el siglo XVIII español e italiano

Das spannungsvolle Verhältnis von Muße und Müßiggang (Ocio/ociosidad bzw. Ozio/oziosità) wird im 18. Jahrhundert in Italien und Spanien zu einem wichtigen Gegenstand sozioökonomischer, politischer und ästhetischer Reflexion. In den Selbstbeschreibungen der beiden südeuropäischen Kulturräume, die viel verbindet und manches trennt, bildet das Begriffspaar einen diskursiven und imaginativen Kristallisationspunkt, an dem sich Prozesse der Destabilisierung herkömmlicher Ordnungsmuster und des beschleunigten kulturellen Wandels ablesen lassen. In dem Maße, wie die traditionelle Semantik der Muße und ihres abwertenden Komplements, des Müßiggangs, an normativer Kraft verliert, verändern sich auch die jeweiligen Zeit- und Verhaltensdispositive: In den Ambivalenzen des Muße-Begriffs werden so die Ambivalenzen der anbrechenden Moderne in Italien und Spanien erkennbar.

The tense relationship between leisure and idleness (Ocio/ociosidad or Ozio/oziosità) became an important object of socio-economic, political and aesthetic reflection in Italy and Spain in the 18th century. In the self-descriptions of the two Southern European cultural spaces, which, while having a lot in common, also differ in some respects, the pair of concepts forms a discursive and imaginative crystallization point which serves to render processes of destabilization of conventional patterns of order and accelerated cultural change comprehensible. To the extent that the traditional semantics of leisure and its devaluing complement, idleness, lose normative power, the respective time and behavioral dispositives also change: in the ambivalences inherent in the concept of leisure, the ambivalences of the dawning modernity in Italy and Spain become recognizable.En la España y la Italia del S. XVIII, la compleja relación entre ocio y ociosidad (o similarmente ozio e oziosità) es un objeto importante de reflexión y debate no solo en el campo socioeconómico y político, sino también en el estético. En las representaciones de ambos entornos culturales del Sur de Europa, similares en muchos aspectos y al mismo tiempo diferentes, la cuestión del ocio y la ociosidad constituye un nudo central discursivo e imaginativo en el que se ponen de manifiesto por un lado procesos de desestabilización del viejo orden, y por otro lado fenómenos de aceleradas transformaciones culturales. En la medida en que el significado tradicional de ocio y su equivalente negativo, ociosidad, pierde su antigua fuerza normativa, se transforman también los paradigmas temporales y de comportamiento en vigor: siendo así que en la ambivalencia del concepto de ocio se muestra la propia ambivalencia de la incipiente modernidad en España y en Italia.
