Ji Ram, Vishnu

Further to his superannuation as Dy. Director for the Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, UP, India, a world class, premier research Institute for drug development, Prof Ram became Emeritus professor and served various academic institutions for 10 years. Besides research experience, he has also earned 18 years of experience teaching heterocyclic chemistry to graduate and post-graduate classes. He has 256 publications to his name, including several review articles published in top chemistry journals. He is also recipient of prestigious fellowships from JSPS, Japan, Alexander von Humboldt (AvH), Germany and NIH, USA.

Pratap, Ramendra

Prof. Ramendra Pratap completed his master's from the University of Gorakhpur in 2001 and then he moved to Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow for doctoral research. He worked with Dr. Vishnu Ji Ram for four and a half years on ring transformation reactions of 2H-pyran-2-ones. He worked on nucleoside modification chemistry as a postdoctoral fellow at the City University of New York, USA, for two years. He received a renowned Humboldt fellowship and shifted to the University of Saarland, Germany. In Saarbrucken, he was involved in Mo-catalyzed reactions. In September 2010, He joined the Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi as an Assistant Professor. Currently, He is working as a full Professor. Till now he has published more than 100 research papers in various international Journals. He also received JSPS invitation fellowship during the year 2016-17. His chemistry focuses on developing various heterocycles, carbocycles, materials, and metal-catalyzed bond formation reactions. His major research contribution involves use of isolated and fused pyranones to establish new molecular entities.

Yadav, Pratik

Dr. Pratik Yadav has completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. He earned his master's and Ph.D. in Chemistry with organic chemistry specialization from the Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi. In his PhD, he worked on the synthesis of aromatic and heteroaromatic scaffolds using ketene dithioacetals and 2-pyranones under the supervision of Prof. Ramendra Pratap. He was awarded DAAD fellowship by DAAD, Bonn in 2015 to work in the area of decarboxylative cross-coupling and C-H activation reaction at Technical University Kaiserslautern, Germany in the research group of Prof. Dr. Lukas J. Goossen. He worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi from 2017-2021. Currently, He is working as a postdoctoral research fellow at Long Island University, Brooklyn, USA in the area of design and synthesis of Boron-based small molecular probes and therapeutics (including kinase inhibitors and synthetic retinoids). His research involves modern and catalytic functionalization methods to synthesize small drug like molecules and their chemical biology. Until now, he has published more than 20 research papers in various international Journals.
